Glamour Gowns and Suit Up, in partnership with CASA of Los Angeles, held the 4th Annual Day at the Races on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. The event, attended by 240 guests, included a full day of racing, food, fun, games and a silent and live auction. Approximately $59,000 was raised. Guests included Pasadena Chief of Police Phillip Sanchez, Stewart Goldman, Senior Vice President of Chinese Laundry, and Ebony Spicer, a former foster youth who received clothing and accessories at Glamour Gowns. The 2015 event honored Chinese Laundry, which has donated women’s fashion footwear for Glamour Gowns and Suit Up for many years.
All proceeds raised from Day at the Races help to provide brand new formal clothing which is given to hundreds of foster boys and girls for their prom, graduation and job interviews. Day at the Races was chaired by Sue Marshall and Joanne Solov.
Since 2001, the spring Glamour Gowns event has provided more than 6,000 dresses, suits, shoes and accessories to thousands of foster youth, building their confidence and self-esteem. Through the generosity of caring individuals like you, we can continue to offer these deserving young people a life changing experience. Click here for more information about Glamour Gowns.
