Benefits: Funding and Foster Care Rates
When: April 3, 2018 from 12 pm to 1:30 pm
Most children who are in out-of-home care, and all children in foster care qualify for funding. Children who have special medical, developmental or emotional needs may even be eligible to receive a specialized care rate–higher than the basic rate. Most counties have their own rate structures to account for children’s special needs. Los Angeles County, in particular has specialized care rates.
Join the Alliance for Children’s Rights, as we explore:
- types of benefits (foster care funding, ARC, CalWorks)
- specialized care rates (D-rate, F-rate, dual agency rates)
- the purpose of foster care funding
- how to better advocate for funding
- benefits beyond foster care
Presented by Adam Cherensky, Benefits Program Director for the Alliance for Children’s Rights.
