In-Service Training

Parents in Partnership

When: March 21, 2018 from 12 pm to 1:30 pm

Parent Partners are a committed group of parents who have successfully navigated the dependency system and now work in partnership with DCFS to provide parents with information, empowerment, and hope. Parent Partners provide support, information, and mentorship to parents who have recently lost custody of their children as well as parents whose children are in the foster care system without permanency.

Please join us as Steven Medellin and Rachel Chavez (DCFS, Parents in Partnership) introduce CASAs to the Parents in Partnership (PIP) program. CASAs will be provided with an overview of the deliverables offered through the PIP program, as well as knowledge of PIP services at the dependency court and PIP services for incarcerated parents.
