Why are adult mentorship and circle of support important for EPYs and what should those relationships look like?

Calling all CASA’s working with expectant and parenting youth (EPYs)! We hope you’ll join the CASA/LA team for this interactive, virtual workshop. We will be introducing the concept of parent support plans, which can be developed by EPYs along with an identified responsible adult mentor. This discussion will cover who can serve as a mentor, including what qualifications are required and what boundaries should be in place. More generally, we will also review how you can assist your EPY in building and enhancing their circle of support and protective factors. Finally, we will discuss the different types of monetary support that expectant and parenting NMD youth qualify for.
