In-Service Training
First Star: National STEAM Academy
When: September 30, 2021 from 12 pm to 2 pm

The First Star National STEAM Academy is a college access program for foster youth that exposes youth to the possibilities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Representatives from this program will share about their innovative academic enrichment program. First Star’s virtual STEAM Academy bridges the gap between science and social justice to encourage scholars to become change agents in and beyond their communities. Students are also invited to apply to our brick-and-mortar First Star Academies in San Bernadino and Los Angeles.
Training is offered online via Zoom.

Presented by:
Dr. Kilan Bishop, Director, National STEAM Academy @ First Star
Kurt Manio, Director @ First Star CSUSB
Karina Garcia, Director @ First Star Bruin Guardians Scholar Academy
