In-Service Training

Working with LGBTQ Youth

When: April 17, 2018 from 12 pm to 1:30 pm

LGBTQ youth are disproportionately over-represented in the foster care system, and they suffer a variety of disparities in comparison to peers, including: higher numbers of placements, greater likelihood of running away, greater risk of harassment and violence, and a higher likelihood of homelessness or sexual trafficking.

Since 1969 the Los Angeles LGBT Center has cared for, championed, and celebrated LGBTQ individuals and families in Los Angeles and beyond. The Center offers health services, social services and housing, culture and education opportunities, as well as leadership and advocacy for LGBTQ individuals.

Join us to find out more about Los Angeles LGBT Center services and topics around language and best practice guidelines, so you can better advocate for an LGBTQ child
