In your work as a CASA, you will encounter at least three different types of attorneys in the dependency system. CASA youth are represented by an attorney with the Children’s Law Center. DCFS is represented by an attorney from the county called the County Council. Parents of youth are represented by attorneys from Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers (LADL).

Join us for an in-depth training provided by a supervising attorney at LADL. Not only will we cover the basics of the LADL organization but we will discuss the law’s focus on reunification and keeping families together. We will cover the importance of regular contact and/or visitation between parents and minors who are removed from their care and how CASAs can support the reunification process. We will also have time for a Q&A to ensure that we have a robust discussion around this important topic.
