April 22 @ 6:03 pm
Join us for the next in-service as we host the Los Angeles County African American Infant and Maternal Mortality (AAIMM) Prevention Initiative team for a powerful introduction and conversation around what LA County is doing to lower the infant and maternal mortality rates for Black women and infants.

What is the AAIMM Initiative?
The Los Angeles County African American Infant and Maternal Mortality (AAIMM) Prevention Initiative is a coalition of the Department of Public Health in partnership with First 5 LA and the LA County Department of Health Services, Department of Mental Health, community organizations, mental and health care providers, funders, and community members. They are united in one purpose: to address the unacceptably high rates of Black infant and maternal deaths countywide and ensure healthy and joyous births for Black families in LA County.

AAIMM seeks to address both the causes of elevated stress and the pathway from stressful experiences to adverse outcomes through multiple interventions including fatherhood engagement, doulas, and community action teams.

In this training you can expect to learn:

  1. About the LA County AAIMM initiative and its importance to LA County Residents
  2. The State of Black Maternal/Birthing Person Health Crisis in LA County
  3. How to Become Part of the AAIMM Village Today!
