Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (Online)
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs) is a range of lifelong neurodevelopmental disorders resulting from prenatal alcohol exposure. FASD-informed, supportive interventions by mental health providers are crucial to increasing individual and family functioning and decreasing the likelihood of secondary disabilities. However, lack of awareness and stigma continue to impact the development, successful implementation, and accessibility of FASD-informed practices across the US and globally.
This presentation will review the importance of utilizing the neurodevelopmental lens when working with children and teens with FASD to increase our understanding and supportive responses. Additionally, the critical need for FASD-informed providers, caregiver interventions, and ongoing support will be discussed.
This training is offered online.
