This in-person workshop will explore juvenile justice, shifting focus from individual delinquency to examining the historical and systemic forces that shape the treatment of young people. CASAs will gain a deeper understanding of how policies, practices, and power structures influence youth outcomes.
Through discussion and analysis, the workshop will explore the juvenile justice system both nationally and within Los Angeles. It will also highlight evolving perspectives on social justice, examine the influence of interactions with law enforcement, as well as with families, groups, communities, institutions and larger systems engaging with youth.
Join us as we come together in a shared commitment to deepening our understanding of the youth justice system and its impact on young people, families, and communities.
