This presentation will discuss the value of fathers and the importance of their involvement in the lives of their children. You will further learn about the individual and systemic barriers that can prevent father-child engagement. We will also each evaluate our own implicit bias regarding fathers. Subsequently, we will review strategies and implementation methods for effectively engaging fathers during their children’s early childhood. Finally, you will learn about how engagement and teaming up with fathers can have a positive or negative effect on the success of their relationship with their children and their healthy development.
