As wildfires continue to impact our communities, we are committed to providing vital resources and unwavering support to our staff, volunteers, and children involved in the child welfare and justice systems. Whether you’re seeking practical assistance, emotional guidance, or tools to navigate this challenging time, we’re here to help.  Together, we can ensure the safety, well-being, and resilience of everyone in our care.

CASA of Los Angeles, in anticipation of supporting our children and families directly impacted by the fires, will be accepting donations of:

  • Blankets
  • Jackets
  • Sweatshirts/Sweatpants
  • Hygiene Products (including sanitary products)
  • Socks/Pajamas
  • Toys
  • Books/Puzzles/Coloring Books
  • Gift Cards
  • For financial support

Mental Health and Emotional Support

Practical Needs

  • American Red Cross: Offers shelter, food, and medical care to those affected by the wildfires. Find local shelters and services
  • 211 LA & Airbnb: Partner to provide free temporary shelter for individuals displaced by fires
  • Baby2Baby: Distributes essential items like diapers, clothing, and basic necessities to children affected by the wildfires
  • World Central Kitchen: Provides meals to first responders and families impacted by wildfires in the Los Angeles area
  • YMCA of Los Angeles offering free childcare for those in need (limited space), food, water, pet supplies, phone chargers, pillows, towels, medical supplies, etc.

Educational and Community Support

  • California Teachers Association (CTA) Disaster Relief Fund: Provides financial assistance to educators and their families affected by wildfires.
  • L.A. Works: Coordinates volunteer efforts to support wildfire relief, including assembling emergency kits and providing community assistance.
  • Tips for Relocating to New Schools
  • Help Kids Cope: Helps parents talk to their kids about the disasters they may face and know how best to support them throughout—whether sheltering-in-place at home, evacuating to a designated shelter, or helping your family heal after reuniting. This mobile app is also a great resource for teachers and other professionals involved in children’s lives. This is the iOS version of the app.
