Children undergo a variety of assessments when interacting with mental health professionals. A specialized service, psychological and psycho-educational evaluations differ from typical clinical interview assessments, as they provide insights to a child’s functioning that is unable to be obtained from talk-based assessments. This training’s aim is to provide foundational information regarding psychological testing: the kinds, the purposes, and the processes. The other aim is to understand how this form of specialized care can open doors to treatment/accommodation opportunities that were once closed.
