March 20 @ 4:39 am

This training is the first in a two-part series on racial justice in education. We will first review the concepts of privilege, CRT, and Intersectionality. These concepts will provide a framework for the topics covered throughout the rest of the training series. We will then cover the legal and historical background of our education system, from 1619 to the present. Finally, this session will cover what implicit bias is, how it impacts us as advocates, and how it shows up in our institutions, including our education system. We will also cover how trauma impacts the brain and body, including its impact on learning. There will be a special focus on racialized trauma.
